the weekends gone!

Posted on Monday, October 30, 2006 in life's like this

*looks around* *checks under the desk* *checks the cupboards….. WHERE THE HELL DID THE WEEKEND GO!  I had so many plans – so much I was going to do and finish and start and all that!

Well had a good weekend anyway – must have otherwise it wouldn't have gone so quickly!  Starting off with a round-up of last week – had my course from Tuesday – Friday, met some new ppl namly Andrew the teacher and Paul who was there doing the course too.  I found the course very informative (which is what it was meant to be!) well set out notes and flowed and made sense.  The project we made (Sticky Notes for pc and web) was a good way to put things into practice and see the differences that the same project had on different platforms.  I did the test on the friday and apart from about 4 – I think I went okay, will find out in a week or so I guess….

So back to the weekend – on Friday night (got home early at 5) so we went out and met up with Jane, Darren and Amelia who came down for a few days from Up 't' North, met them in Oxford Street and had a wander around and a few drinks.  On Saturday we met up with them again down at Leister Square and took them up to Camden Town to see the markets up there, had some very tasty lunch and walked around the shops for a bit before heading home about 4 (we left them there still shopping!).

Daryn and Sarah came down from Nottingham around 5pm and Jayson picked them up at 6 – we went for a few drinks across the road at The Green and then went down to Liverpool Street to meet Grant and Sarah at the Railway Pub and then it was down to drinking and more drinking, by about midnight we were all a bit druk and totally starving so arrived at Brick Lane and ate lots of food and drank some more!  I had this amazing dish called a 'Mango delight' – sooo tasty, but around 1pm I got really really exhausted – it was a bit scar, glad that I was sitting down otherwise I think I would have fallen – guess it is just a by-product of not sleeping properly at the moment.

We caught the tube and a cab back home and then it was sleep time!  Work up feeling a bit worse for wear at around 9 (We had invited Daryn and Sarah around for roast dinner but they texted and declined – not sure if they were feeling bad or we had upset them somehow!) So lazed around in bed for a bit and then went to Sainsbury's and did some shopping for the dinner and the rest is history – cooked and ate well! Spent the rest of the day doing house things and then Dave arrived in the evening and that was the end of the weekend!

*tada*

course week!

Posted on Monday, October 23, 2006 in life's like this

Monday has been busy busy busy! Had to cram thing in today because I'm on my course for the rest of the week!

Had a nice weekend up north – a long drive up though again – went to stop into Nottingham and it took almost three hours (should have been about 1/2 an hour) but caught up with Jayne & Darren and Anita & Dene at the pub for a few drinks on Saturday night, then went out for lunch with Karen (Jayson's mum) on Sunday.  We ended up going to Chinese – wasn't too great – but doing fish & chips next time!

Very excited about starting the course tomorrow – going to be really good learning new things!

Nothing much else to report – had a busy/normal day and a nice weekend! And I forgot Kerry's birthday *does the walk of shame again*

walk of shame

Posted on Monday, October 23, 2006 in life's like this

I would just like to put my hand up for the walk of shame.  It was Kerry's birthday on the 19th October and I for some reason, irrelevent of the fact that I had 4 reminders on my phone, I convinced myself that it was not on the 19th – but actually sometime back in April.  I have NO idea what is going on in my head – but all I can say is I am so sorry Kez – I really had convinced myself that I wasn't wrong and it wasn't your birthday!

I have now set 5 reminders and shall never make that mistake again *tight hugs baebe* and Happy Belated Birthday to you!
