Fluorescein Angiogram
by azyure on Oct.20, 2006, under life's like this
Well yesterday was rather interesting – but good news first – no damage to my eye and the clot is shrinking! *yay*
So left work yesterday at 12.30ish and waited and waited at the hospital (Jayson and Dave came down too and kept me company and laughed at my funny eyes), finally went in for my appointment at around 2.30 (1.30 appointment) had more drops put in my eye and talked to Dr Shilling, he said that I should have an 'Fluorescein Angiogram' done. Which basically was them putting a florescent liquid in my blood system and taking lots of pictures of my eyes.
So when to the photography room (more waiting) and then my eye wasn't dilated enough so more drops and more waiting, then Dr Shilling came and did the injection. The needle stung a bit but it was okay – but then after about a minute of them taking lots of pics I had a huge swell of nausea which lasted a few minutes (side effect) but then was fine and they took more images.
Came out of there seeing all funny colours (as they used filter when taking images) and then got the thumbs up from Dr Shilling that the blood vessels in the eye are okay, and the clot has shrunk slightly. Gotta go back in two weeks and have another scan to make sure it's going.
So as we left the hospital, Dave and Jayson started laughing, and another side effect of the drug they put in my system, was to turn my skin yellow – and I mean really really yellow. So picture me, massive black eye's, fluro yellow skin, kinda stumbling, squinting – yeah really nice look NOT!
So went home, got into comfy clothes, lazed around and drank lots of water (to get it out of my system) and peed very fluro yellow. The yellow laded after about 2 hours and I'm all back to normal today (well normal for me anyway!)
Not too bad a sleep last night, went to be around 11, woke up at 2 but managed to go back to sleep until the alarm – so about 6 hours sleep I would say – almost a record for me at the moment!
Dave came down yesterday and he & Jayson went to a Emergency Vehicle show or something today, we are probably going to the Czech restaurant for dinner (bargin amazing tasty food) and then heading off up north early in the morning!
Mum and dad got the plans for the shed approved through council – so should start that in the next week or so – then onto the house! Belinda rang on Sunday and was good but hopefully will hear from here again this weekend!
Chris my friend is going to New York to do some business stuff and make people give him money and support for all his good idea (wish I could go and visit!) and Nic (Gemma's boyfriend) is going too.
Spoke to Kerry a bit this week and he is doing well – so busy with life and stuff but it is good to see him happy.
Rita rang on Tuesday night and we had a bit of a chat, she is doing well also but need to catch up with her soon – haven't seen her for a few weeks so thought we should go out and do coffee or something.
Had a few text messages from Sarah this week – she is a real sweetie and I really should make more of an effort to catch up with her more. She said Grant is doing as well as expected after his gran passed away – must be hard though – I know he cared for her alot. I believe the funeral is next week, so will have to keep in touch with them and see how it all goes.
Heading up north tomorrow for the weekend, catching up with Jane & Dean, Mel & Craig and Jayson's mum (Karen) I believe so that will be nice. I spoke to her when we were down in Brighton and she was really sweet, we always pick her up and go for a curry whenever we visit, but so far I haven't been able to find a dish that I enjoy eating (not a huge fan of the curry), but it is a bit of a tradition. But last time his mum found out I don't really like it so she was like 'we can go for fish and chips or something else – it's not a worry', going to see what Jayson says – it is their tradition and I don't want him getting upset with me for agreeing to go somewhere else to eat. I understand that it's somewhere that his dad took them, and while that is sweet – he has been gone along time now and she is alone – and she's still young and attractive and interested in travelling and other things – maybe she should be dating and stuff, she has a right to be happy – OR maybe I should keep my nose and opinions out of it!
But anyway should be a nice weekend!

Midday Thursday, another frikkin crap night of sleep (sleep around 11.30, awake at 3.30, fully awake at 4am, heard the 6am beeps and dozed back off – alarm at 7am) feeling like I have been hit by a truck *sigh* it's really hard to be my normal cheery self when I'm so tired and feel so crap :/
Yoga was good though, went pretty hard at it, but only felt a bit sore once, and left there feeling strong and good, had a tasty dinner of pasta with pesto and then I dozed off drooling on Jayson's shoulder.
Heading off to my appointment at the hospital (leaving around 12.40), appointment at 1.30. Jayson has gone to a show with Dave in Barbican – so will see how I go, might message him to come and meet me when my appointments finished but will see how I feel and what they intend to do to me today. (the eye is still the same blurriness – I *think* it has got a bit smaller, but want to see what the Dr says incase I am imaging it).
Thinking of booking an acupuncture session when I get paid, just to see if it has some effect – I found them very helpful to me when I was younger and getting really bad migraines – thought it might help to get some sllleeeeeppppp……….
Well hope the Dr has some good news and sleep comes visiting tonight. *crosses fingers*

hump day
by azyure on Oct.18, 2006, under life's like this
being sooo unproductive at the moment. It's just about 3.30 and I have a splitting headache and my legs has been hurting all day. I had a 1/4 ibuprofen and waiting half an hour, it didn't work so I ended up taking another quarter.
Lethargy is truly set in and I am having trouble keeping my eyes open and portraying some semblance of being awake
Might make a cuppa tea and see if that can wake me up….
Still feeling so lethargic, the need to sleep can get so overwhelming, but gotta perk up cause there is work to do and I'm not getting it done!
*slaps self*
So looking forward to next week – I'm going to be doing a Learning Tree course, 'Introduction to Programming with .NET: Hands-On', running from Tuesday-Friday. Should be a good challenge and it will be a full on course covering the basics of programming – most of which I have been missing!
So I have yoga this evening, rather annoyed with myself as I left my yoga mat on the tube this morning, not that it is something expensive or anything, but it was a gift and I had brought it all the way from Australia with me!
Came up with an idea that they like at work for a new marketing campaign for one of our sites 'CityPlayer.com', it consists of converting (digitally) a monitor into a gaming machine, so with a lever, coin slot, cash dispenser etc. It is coming together and looks pretty good – well I think so anyway, my first idea is way better, but as we have no budget that one is out the window for the moment. (It consisted of a guy in a shark suit, walking a plank, ready to jump in the deep end with the real sharks AND the other one was a guy in a bull suit, on a market trading floor with all the other punters AND a guy in a bear suit, up a tree, with real bears poking around on the ground). But yeah – it requires a budget
Going to have a look at the book store for a guitar-learning book today!
Oh yeah dinner went well, Steve made an awesome lasagne (home made), with garlic bread and salad, was extremely tasty – then we watched/played this brilliant game 'LEGO Star Wars® II: The Original Trilogy' {make sure you check out the video} – omg it was so so cool – definitely going to have to be a purchase. Unfortunately around 11.30 I dozed off on their couch so we headed home (oops) but it was all okay! Katie had a good birthday party on Sunday night and it is actually her birthday today.
well gonna get back to work, feeling a bit more lively now, oh yeah and its 'hump' day because if you think of the week like a hill – its Wednesday so were right at the top of the hump and it's a downhill run from here! *yay*
