wednesday *boppin*

Posted on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 in life's like this

well catching up again – Friday night at the Ceilidh was alot of fun, Jen, Simon and about 6 more of their friends and Rita & Hamish also came – lots of dancing and a bit of drunkenness ensued!

Jayson and I had our first weekend at home together which was nice and quiet – watched some tv – moved stuff around in the loungeroom and just generally lazed around!

I also started swimming on Saturday – went up to the pool for an hour on sat/sun and Monday – had a break yesterday but am going back tonight with Rita. Still been sleeping really crap – actually had a really bad night Monday night – but eh – trying to get registered with the Dr here is quite a long process, so have started that and hopefully they will be able to give me something to sleep a few sound nights.

Jayson is away this week and next, back for the weekends though which is good. Our New Sofa!

So the exciting news for the day is that we won a couch on ebay! Not alot of ppl would find that exciting – but it’s a really nice couch and we got it for under half of what it is worth!

Other good news today is that I booked a physio appointment – which again not many people would find exciting – but for me who is still in pain after over two years and who hasn’t had a full nights sleep in over 4 months, plus someone like Jayson who has to try to sleep beside someone who wakes up constantly all night and can’t walk straight and gets snappy when their in pain – those kind of people would be looking forward to it!

It’s Wednesday afternoon – about half hour left of work, going to go to Asda after work and get food to make nachos tonight for Rita and I after swimming, Hamish may join us as well – will be nice to have ppl over!

Tunes I’m bopping to include:

  • Mika – Grace Kelly
  • Just Jack – Stars in their eyes
  • Jojo – Too little too late
  • Fall out boy – This ain’t an arms race
  • Bloc Party – The prayer
  • Fray – How to save a life
  • Jaime T – Calm down dearest
  • Gwen Stafani – The sweet escape

Scottish Ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee)

Posted on Friday, January 26, 2007 in life's like this

It’s the end of the week and were off to a Scottish Ceilidh with a group of friends for the evening (basically eat food and do scottish dancing) should be interesting to say the least!

Walked to work and back a few times this week – isn’t too bad as long as I’m rugged up well – takes about 20 minutes and is pretty nice – walk along the docks and there are usually birds floating around and stuff.

We also got the internet connected last night thankfully (Jayson was going crazy without one) and it is very fast and it hopefully will work out well!

Were bidding for a few things on ebay for the house – we need quite a few things:

  • lounge (we want a l-shaped one)
  • Computer desk (prefer a computer ‘cupboard’ so we can shove a heap of stuff in and close the doors when we have visitors)
  • TV table
  • Cupboard and/or more draws for the bedroom
  • Bedside tables

So after all the stuff we had to move in – we want to get more crap! hahaha!

There are heaps of other nik-nak stuff that we need (an iron would be good) – but all these things will come in times (read: after we get paid)

Don’t really have anything planned for the weekend (can’t afford it!) apart from this evening which was booked quite awhile ago. At some stage we need to go up to the old house where the car is parked and get some stuff out of it – apart from that – I would like to go swimming this weekend and try out the gym. Well and also if we get the couch we are bidding for on ebay – then we will have to go and pick that up either Saturday or Sunday which may mean we have to hire a van again – but will see how it goes and whether we win!

Just after 5 here and there is nothing else to do so going to go and get dressed up soon so I can leave right on 5.30 and get to the venue on-time!

Well going to go and tidy up a few things before I head off! Got the camera so as long as I can remember to take it out tonight there should be some interesting shots up on the website over the weekend!

OMG SNOW!!

Posted on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 in life's like this

Got a text from Jayson this morning ‘Morning sleepyhead..go look outside your window…’ and there was SNOW – and not just a little bit – but more than a little bit!

First thing I did was call mum and dad and tell them – and they whinged about how hot it was out there – and then I got all rugged up and walked to work!

There actually isn’t that much snow – we had about 2 inches overnight but it’s already started melting a bit and turning to ice.

I took some photos on the way to work – so when Dan is nice and allow’s me to use his laptop – I will pull them off the camera and post them up!

What a nice way to start the day!

still not quite there

4pm

I’ve just had an email from Ciaran and they finally got into the flat – I was right – the shop next door had keys to the apartment so they got them from them.

Ciaran said that he (Isak) was very happy with how clean the place was and the good condition it was left in (yay) but as I though – he had a bit to say about the beds.

Beds:
When we moved in there was beds in each room – but after about a month of living there – we found the place was infested with Bed Bugs (ewww so so so gross) the first thing the real estate told us to do was get rid of the beds, and then we had the place sprayed twice (which was crap anyway) we ended up getting our own spray stuff off the internet which worked brilliantly.

BUT we didn’t get anything in writing – and now that was over 6 months ago and he seems to have conveniently forgotten that he was the one that told us to get rid of the bed immediately!

So apart from that it all should be okay – worst comes to worst we will get a £50 bed off ebay or something and replace it – so not a big huge drama (I hope) *crosses fingers* It was left that Isak would go and talk to the landlord and see what he has to say about it.

So onto the next drama – just want our money back and it all sorted out and over!
